how long before ps3 comes out?

I want to buy a video machine for my 10 yr old for Christmas. But some one said not to get ps2 cause the ps3 was coming out soon? And will my 10 yr old be able to handle the technology thats the ps3 will have?

The firs wave of PS3 will be release as planned by Sony on November 17, 2006. Sony have decided to cut back on the stocks so only 400,000 units will be release around this date. The second wave will be release during the month of December and January(approximately 1.2-1.5 million units overall by the end of the year). The PS3 will be release on a limited available basis. Yes there are other less expensive consoles and the PS3 will cost around $599; but if you want a gaming console that have all the best hardware and built in blue-ray HD-DVD player than I would recommend the PS3. I will admit that most of the games for the PS3 aren't for 10 year old. So as far as your 10 year old being able to handle the technology is concerned, it is a question mark, but I think eventually your 10 year old will grow into it and like it. Quite frankly, I think you will enjoy it more and your 10 year old will catch on.

Kids can handle anything ;)

10 year olds usually don't have a problem with video games.

For your info, PAL territories release has been pushed back until March 2007

if i remember the ps3 is coming out november 17 in USA, i think its March in England. it will cost 600$.

yes he probably will be able to handle it, but i recommend getting the Nintendo Wii. it will at most cost 250$ and is more family friendly.

mAYBE IT DEPENDS IN YOUR SON. IT COMES OUT IN NOVEMBER I THINK IT WOULD COST YOU LIKE $500.00
