Hi kathy !! This is Anup. You want exam tips, so here is my experiance about exam:-

Be cool, do not take tension of any subject. If you take tension you start to forget what you have studied already. Don't mug up the things, just try to understand what you are learning. After learning recall what you learned. Give answers in exam in your own words. Your answers should be to the point and they should satisfy the question. Do not write any extra stuff on your answer sheet. Do not attempt the optional questions. After finishing your paper , have a good look at it & you may find some silly mistakes. Make necessary corrections. Try to give better presentation of your answersheet.
Hope my experiance satisfied your question. For any other doubts you can e-mail me at aksanup9287@yahoo.com. May be I shall have better solutions to your querries.

Goodbye & Best luck !!!

Shhh this is a secret.

Problem with exams and learning is short term memory vs. long term memory. If you can get information from short term to long term memory, exams will be a breeze. (If you don't panic)

1. Listen carefully to whatever the teacher says. (No exams are ever on what a student reports or answers)
2. Read carefully any reference material the teacher provides. (He / She is pointing you to specific information)

Now the secret...
Moving information from short term to long term requires a minimum of 3 steps.
1. Learn it.
2. Review it.
3. Tell it.

Review the material as much as the time allows but the real key is to tell it to someone. Tell it to your Mom, your friend, a stranger, your dog. It doesn't matter. You do these 3 steps and what you learned is not forgotten, not just for an exam but for you to know.

If you can't figure out an answer from your knowledge of the topic, figure it out from the logic of the question. In multiple choice tests, you can cross out answers that don't make sense, if you think about what the question is going for. Why do respiration and photosynthesis form a continous cycle? Cross out any answers that don't make something a continuous cycle. You don't need to know any thing about it really--cycle is like circle, and you understand continous--so how many answers make sense now--1 out of 5, 2 out of five?

Also, knowing the teacher's tests will help. I once had a history teacher who would never have a date in a true-false question that was true. He'd either put the wrong date on the question, or would trick us by putting the right date in the question and making another part of it false. For his tests, even if I thought the answer was true, I eventually learned to always pick false if he put a date in the question.

At he morning of the exam. Load your short term memory, by going over the contentpage of your books. First go over the structure of the chapters. Then rapidly check chapters that sound or you feel unfamiliar with. Read, not study, the chapter. Then go back to the index. Check the next unfamiliar one. Chances are that by reading you will load your short term memory enough to remember. But the thing is. After the exam, the knowledge will rapidly deteriorate. So you'd better study hard as well. GOOD LUCK!

Know the material.
Don't study into the wee hours of the night before the test.
Get a good nights rest before the test.
Shower in the morning, finish with cold water.
Eat less for breakfast.
Have additional test material, pencils, extra calculator etc.
Read every question carefully.
Read every answer carefully.
Take short "deep breathing" breaks during the test.

BTW, if you ignore the first suggestion all the rest are useless. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Hopefully, you can write as small as I do.

I always write notes on my fingernails in pencil. I can write incredibly small and it works for me. You should always study, but having a few things that always leave your mind written down can help. Also, it always helped me to memorize formulas right before a test and then write the formulas on the test sheet before I start answering. This way, I know that I have them. I don't know that you were asking for ways to cheat, but getting the formulas written down can make things a lot easier so that you have more time to take the test. Always go i nwith a cool head though and keep relaxed. You'll do better that way.

chalk out your study plan(have little breaks to give rest to your mind and body) and follow it. if you have mathematics as one of your subjects, always start with it. while studying, put all yout soul into it, lack of concentration will lead to zero result, so when you are studying, you have to be completely into it.
play some games in your free time, or go for a walk, listen to music.eat good, healthy food. salads and fruits will keep you fit.
when free, you can help your mom in the kitchen, it is very relaxing. keep a week`s time for unforeseen disturbances. whatever you learn write it later pointwise to check if you really remember everything
all the best.
