I have not bought a Video Game system since...Wow...Sega Genasis? Super Nintendo maybe? My Super Nintendo broke a couple years back, and my Sega has...well....seen better days. I am thinking about buying a DS lite handheld Game but I would like some feedback before I dish out $150. In your opinion, is it worth it? How is the quality? Breaks Easily? Thank you.

I have a DS Lite and it is easily the greatest portable I have ever owned. (I have owned all the Gameboys, a Game Gear and a PSP.) There are tons of games for the DS of all different genres. There are games you can spend hours and hours on such as RPGs, but at the same time there is the "Touch Generation" games such as Tetris and Brain Age that you can pick up and play without having to get into the game and just play as long as you want. Also, the sleep mode is a great feature, just close the DS if something comes up and open it back up to start off where you stopped.

The DS Lite is really high quality, it's a system designed to look nice and play nice and it does both of these functions quite well. Awhile back there was the flaw with the left hinge cracking for no reason (this doesn't occur on the new Lites I don't think) but even if you suffer this flaw, Nintendo will gladly fix it for you.

It is also pretty impossible to break, I gave my kid sister one and the thing has probably hit the ground more times than a rubber ball and it works fine. Whenever anyone asks about the DS Lites durability this video comes to mind: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FNNNwK2XMzk It's worth taking a watch, it's a stress test of the DS Lite's touch screen, it blows my mind.

Also, the person above me mentioned stuck pixels, unlike most companies who replace a system if they have over 10 stuck pixels or the seriously alter game play, Nintendo has a zero tolerance policy, if you have ONE stuck pixel, Nintendo will swap you out for a new one.

If you have any more questions, just ask. Haha. Yahoo answers, get it? ...

DS Lite is going for $129 here, same as the regular DS. The quality is good, and the games are top notch, if you like the Nintendo style of games. (ie innovation)

My $129 was definitely well spent. I have the original DS, and it's built like a tank, the Lite did have some issues with cracking (on the hinge), but that issue has been resolved. Make sure that you try it out right away to make sure that all the pixels work, I did return the first one I bought due to pixels that were always on.

I bought my DS lite 3 months ago: To be honest I'm dissapointed with my purchase since the game library is so focused on children. The graphics looks so pixelized. I think that a PSP is a better option

dont listen to anybody. I own a ds lite, and it is amazing! some say the plastic is greasy, but the adjustable light, the mic on the hinges, and its more PORTABLE. But its only in white. Black one comes out in november. yeah, get the lite, its worth it. The normal ds is fine, its your choice. I like the lite better though, its awesome.

I have a regular DS and i dont think its good enough to spend money on a new and improved one.

properly what i could say is this the DS is extra video games than the psp yet they have virtually no plot and are very short in bursts of truthfully game capacity the PSP is stable with the aid of fact various the video games on it are like console video games purely you could play them everywhere so PSP in case you asked me (NO RHYME meant)
