In this case, President Bush actually holds an interest in oil production. Blaming the President for every social malady has been fashionable since 1776.... only its done globally now. Oil prices are set by the industry and variables that affect the industry... since people only view GW in a negative light in regard to Iraq, he has become the defacto reason for increased fuel prices. Wasn't there like a hurricane that wiped out our domestic production or something?? (sarcasm) It takes a LONG time to repair structures that have been that badly damaged and they (oil platforms) are EXTREMELY expensive to begin with.... oil companies are in business to make $$ just like everyone else.

Strategic Oil Reserves.... and they drive cars. Of course they are wrong... But, in one sense they may be correct.... if he would put enough troops in the Middle East to win in a timely fashion, prices might drop a "little"..... then again, if he would drop a little encouragement on Iran from about 50,000 ft... surely oil prices would drop... thus creating a drop in gas prices... or would it? Demand would rise if prices dropped.... people would drive more unnecessary miles.... and then the price would increase.... damn, a Catch 22

The President usually have connections with business people particularly those in the oil cartel. Thus, people even perceived that the invasion of Iraq has something to do with this connection in order that oil could be channeled to these business associates.

Because he said gas prices will go down to $2.00 by the end of Summer.
... did he? I now realize I don't know where I got that info from.

Well maybe it's because we listen to the news and we know that VP Cheney allowed the oil companies to write their own energy policies. Maybe that's why the Senate held investigations, to determine who spoke to Cheney & when. Of course they lied & got away with it because the Senate did not put them under oath. Geez....don't you listen to the news?
