If you are saying 'how do i find the scientific name of a jellyfish' - just look up jellyfish on the internet or an encylopedia and you'll find it--it is usually in italics, with the genus capitalized and the species not capitalized.

If you are saying "I'm looking at this bird--what is its scientific name", use a dichotomous key. It will ask you yes or no questions about the bird until you narrow it down to the species of bird you are looking at.
