theres a legendary pool in urfa.u would ask why it became legendary.Let me tell u:

in a long time ago, there was a cruel leader who called himself Nemrut (one of the mountains in Southeast of turkey).and there was a man with religious who we call him "Prophet Ibrahim" (Mostly believes that he is sacred).Every day the people who live around urfa goes to a place where they serve to the stones and pray them.Stones were sacred for the urfa people and they believe the connection to GOD goes by this stones.they were serving fruits, meals. They werent atheists they were believing in stones.when the great Ibrahim saw her uncle was one of them,he became sad and went to the place where stones placed and other people gathered.after the stone-believers went off ,The Great Ibrahim destroyed the stones and remained one stone.after that some high-people came and asked around who did these?the stones were broken and one of them was remaining.then Ibrahim spoke:"Why do u believe in stones? just tell the stone who did this? if its a high then it can tell u who broke the stones".Then one of the high spoke:"it can tell wrong"
then Ibrahım said:"then why do u believe a stone although it can tell u a lie!!!"

after that the soldiers took The Great Ibrahim to Nemruts palace.Nemrut asked him why he broke the stones.Ibrahim answered:"I dont believe in stones.I only believe in GOD."
Then ibrahim asked nemrut:"İf u are such a god why dont u sink the Sun" (nemrut is believed a god among the people.)
Nemrut became angry with that told the soldiers to make ready for the sacrifice.lots of soldiers brang woods.and they made a very high wood-building from these woods. And took the great Ibrahim to the end of the mountain.then Nemrut came and told that:"if u have a great god why dont it come and save you?".then they burnt the woods and it became a huge fire.then they pushed the Great Ibrahim to the fire.what a miracle.God didnt let its most believer burn in the fire.when Ibrahim fell into the fire he felt like he was in heaven.the people were looking at him.then Nemrut said:"Dark magic.Dark Magician" and then a mosquito came and entered from Nemruts ear and bite his brain. There Nemrut died for rejecting ALLAH.then the place became a pool and the woods became fish. This is the end of legendary. The story of the pool in Urfa connected to the Great Ibrahims' story

Urfa was also known as Edessa. About the time of Christ it was the capital of a Kingdom called Osrhoene. The Kings had the name Abgar.
Legends say that one of these kings became Christian even before the crucifixion. Most historians don't believe this but nevertheless there is no doubt that Edessa was Christian from very early times, and remained so until relatively recently.
In the first Crusade, one of the leaders called Baldwin became count of Edessa and ruled it till 1145. Although the Muslims got it back, even under Muslim rule there weere many Christians there till Turkish nationalists drove them out.
