So, you are one of those people who don't use turn signals? Yes, it is a MUST. I witnessed an individual in a turn lane with a police officer right behind him. This individual was not using his turn signal. As soon as the traffic light turned green, this individual proceeded to move forward and make his turn. The police officer's flashers immediately went on and this individual was pulled over and cited.

Yes it is. It's an illegal lane change, no matter if the lane's ending or not. If you recall your driver's ed classes, most instructors taught 200 yards ahead of the turn, about 1/2 a block early. Some police won't even bother. BUT get one needing his/her quota & you've got yourself a ticket. With in-dash cams now, don't chance it. Use your signals at all times for any lane changes, left or right.

Since traffic laws differ by country or by state (in the U.S.), it is impossible to know what the laws are without knowing where you are. In most places, however, any turns must be indicated, especially if there are other cars around. Why? Because if you are driving a vehicle which blocks the view of those behind you, they need to know that you are changing direction in order to have a sense of what is coming up - they may not be able to see the signs or the intersection in front of you.

YES IT IS. It is the law. Why do people find it so difficult to move that little lever on the steering column up or down?

remember, any change of direction must be proceded by a turn signal.

Nothing else matters.
