My boyfriend has what you call a Karaconus, where his cornea is getting small. He needs to get a surgery and we've tried to get help thru medical but they've rejected him because they dont cover that, and the ridiculous thing about it is they consider getting an eye surgery as a privilege, anyways, we tried getting him insurance and they rejected him too. So, is there anyone out there that knows any program that can help....Thank you!

Its called Keratoconus--drooping eyelid-which makes the cornea look small and gives refractive errors.
Get Your Boyfriends Surgery in India if cost is a factor for you.It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Eye surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Eye surgery &Dental Surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

It does not make corneas small, but causes them to bulge into cones shapes distorting vision. Check Boston Foundation for Sight is where I went for special lens. They're non profit and among the very best if not the best. Ppl come from all over the world. For the lens condition must have progressed severely, but if he's at point of needing surgery he may very well be qualified

How about from getting an opinion fro overseas like in India? many people are going there on their own to get themselves fixed up. Medical tourism companies provide all sorts of arrangements to go to India and other Asian countries for medical treatment. Try contacting them. A friend of mine runs Banyan Hope. Try google it on the web
