I am currently trying to get pregnant, but I was on the Depo-Provera shot for close to 2 years and I have a feeling that I may have lost the ability to become pregnant from the shot..I don't know if it is me or if it could be him..He has gotten a girl pregnant before we were even together, but she lost the baby so I don't think theres anything wrong with his "stuff"..Does anyone have any advice or ideas or tips?? Please, Please let me know....Thank you!

The other thing is that my husband is epileptic and has taken medication in the past..I don't think that has anything to do with it..But could it? I recieved my last shot December '05 and I had some light spotting back in March-April of this year..

Depo is some potent stuff, and it will probably take quite a while for it to leave your system. Especially since you took it for 2 years. Stop stressing out about it, and let things take their course.

If after a year you still have not conceived, then you might look into fertility testing. Chances are that you just need to wait a bit longer. His ex losing a pregnancy doesn't have anything to do with him, unless it was chromosomal, and even then those things just happen sometimes.

It's a superstition, but I think it's kind of like "a watched pot never boils" type of thing. It'll happen when it happens, just keep trying. Good luck and have fun! =)

Any good gynecologist could establish whether or not you can conceive. I don't know much of the contraceptive Depo Provera, but what I read in the wikipedia article implies that it can take up to 10 months after your last shot before you can conceive again. In the worst case this may even never be the case because its use can result in infertility. However, don't think worst case unless you have clear signs to do so. Keep at it and keep in mind that it may take you as long as 10 months after your last shot.

Oh and don't be too scared of all the side effects mentioned in the wikipedia article, they are statistics and you are not. Just see your ob-gyn and ask him/her for their honest opinion and best advice.

Best of luck to you.

Im going through the same, my shot vvas less strong than depo though, but it says there it can take around 3-6 months to get your fertility back, Im going to vvait till my 6th month and if I still dont get pregnant going back to the gyno to get everything checked, my husband is in the military and he had to take the antrax shot too so thats another reason vvhy vve might not be able to get pregnant novv, Ive heard that you shouldnt stress about it, cause it makes it harder to get pregnant, so vvait a couple months, my friend by the vvay just got pregnant after trying for 4 months
Good luck

Make an appointment with your Dr. You need to have your hormone levels checked and if needed they can refer you to a fertility specialist. But most important....relax! Sometimes it just takes a little time. Good luck.

You need to be patient and give the birth control time to get out of your system.
Ask your gynocologist for further advice, good luck ;)

You should consult with a doctor . Don't take his word for it , it might be him and not you . You have to know where the problem starts before you can remendy it.
