If I hear one more person tell me or anyone else to "have respect for the office" I will be very tempted to punch them right in the face for being so stupid. I have a lot of respect for the position, just not the person who's holding it. Of course, it would help tremendously if our president didn't appear to be a 1st grade dropout.

"have respect for the office" usually comes from people not educated enough or confident enough to express their true opinions. Could I do the job he's doing now and face NO criticism? Absolutely not. Have there been far better presidents? absolutely. The general public is not informed enough about political issues if you ask me. They simply rely what the media feed them, which has already gone through many filters belonging to many different perspectives. Headlines unfortunately resonate more with citizens than cold hard truths because it takes slightly more effort to find those truths. Perception is reality, and if the rest of the world and over half of our country thinks the president is lackluster, how could a person NOT lose some degree of respect for that person? If your position is educated, your opinion should never be stifled!!!

Coragryph.....you should be a poet.

anyway yeah, Bush said the constitution was just a god-damn piece of paper. I think that he should be hung as a traitor for that remark.

We need Eisenhower

President Eisenhower, apparently aware of such dangers, had warned the nation during his January 17, 1961 farewell address:

"In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together."

Why are people stupid? Stupid is as stupid does (or says).

No way can you punch anyone out, goof ball. I'm with you though. It's very hard to have respect for a man who has no idea what's going on in the world (or at home), on domestic turf.

I believe that when GWB dies, there will be a special place for him in he!!. No matter how much money he gives to the church, it'll never be enough to buy his way into heaven.

Have respect for the office. Bush is one of the top 5 fighter pilots to have gone through the Texas air national guard TO THIS DAY. Not exactly dumb. You believe the left wing garbage with all your might, but it wont change that if Clinton would have held Bin laden , we might be looking at a different scenario today.

Right you are! It is more patriotic to question than to be sheep. He is the first president to have his limosine egged in an inauguration parade . If Diebold makes the computerized voting machines in 08 , we will never get out of the dreck we swim in now . Its sad to see his supporters gasping for oxygen , they should come up for air and realize weve been LIED TO .

I feel the same way about the Supreme Court. I have respect for the institution itself, but not for any of the lying, hypocritical ba****ds who were serving in it from 1994 to 2005. (I don't yet have any reason to think that the new Chief Justice Roberts and the new Justice Alito are as corrupt as the others who have been there for a while, but I don't have high hopes for them either, considering who appointed them.)

if the same people that said "respect the man" didn't go and put up a Clinton hating question five minutes later, maybe I would have a half ounce of respect for them... but they hate clinton just as much as some people hate bush, so it's a bit of a joke

Re: your question about "Wildman"

Wildman is saying that it is better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Glad I could help you, as you are confused at so many levels.

Respect the office. Please don't hit me, I am but a flea on the superior butt of one so wise as you.

Living human kind are not stupid.
Just self lack of knowledge with misinterpretation and miscommunication with communication failures and communication break-down on planet earth.
Will it not be embarassing to post that little question and let planet earth know that oneself is having self lack of knowledge in embarassing his own brothers and sisters in own backyards on planet earth.
