News stories are current news information happenings. Features stories are human interest stories that can be of non-famouis people living their life. News articles are about people doing something that the newsroom editor deems is important for the public to know. News is important acts happening. Features stories are in depth human interest stories that give insight, but have no relevant 'breaking news" story value per say.

'News' is what's supposed to have happened - it should be objective (unbiased) coverage of real events. But 'Features' are about stuff people like to do; like dieting, building stuff, sports people, to inform and hopefully educate us about a subject.
