In late January, when it is getting the coldest, I walk into the store hoping to find something warm and cozy to buy. That lovely coat that I told myself that I didn't need 6 months ago, and still don't, would go on my credit card in a heart beat.

At this time of year, when I've finally lost those extra pounds and my bathing suit that was too small last January in now falling off, this is the time I want a new one.

Lets not forget the poor kids who grow-out-of or wear-out cloths in the proper season but there are no replacements in the proper season.

When will stores wise up and realise that there is more money to be made when people are in the mood for or in need of what they are selling?!?

Everybody wants to be first.
Early Spring clothing are also brought in for vacationers going to warm climates.
Planning out a season like Summer is tricky. Deliveries are cut off early so as to avoid too many markdowns and clear inventories that will die in the peak of Fall sales period.
Also, early Fall clothing deliveries give a retailer some idea of trends and are able to reorder heavier on the right goods for a longer season.

Tell me about it! At least they could do this by where you live. I am in California for example. It's still in the high 80's and low 90's here. The stores are full of sweaters and long sleeved everything and coats. Go figure. If you want Summer clothing you have to but that in March when it is cold here and rainy. I hate it.

It seems to me, with people travelling all year long, to all sorts of climates, that stores should stock both summer and winter clothes all year long. Maybe not so many in the off seasons, but at least a section.

they sell those seasonal items so stores can get rid of excess inventory and to prepare for the next seasonal items

That is how they do things. Don't know why.

You might want to start emailing or writing to these companies. Telling them exactly what you think of their introduction of seasonal items.

That is the ONLY way they will CHANGE their product introduction calendars!
