t's easier to list their similarities, and note the minor variations.

Both parties believe in big govt, and high govt spending. Republicans achieve this through deficit spending; Democrats through high taxes.

Both parties believe in heavy govt regulation. Republicans prefer to regulation individuals and personal choices, and leave businesses alone; Democrats tend to regulate businesses more than people.

Both parties believe heavy govt subsidies and handouts. Republicans give the money to churches and corporations, while Democrats give more money through welfare and social programs.

Both parties are committed to remaining in power, and both of them abuse the political system to achieve this goal. Both slander and belittle the other side. Republicans do this in a more dismissive way, claiming to be dealing with bigger problems. Democrats tend to take a more direct attack role, and go after the Republicans.

Both parties have effectively shut out the moderate conservatives and liberals, and stopped working towards any moderate agendas. Both have abandoned the rule of law, Republicans overtly and blatantly, and Democrats by not fixing the problems.

Republicans control the house and senate now, they get nothing done, Republican President Bush has been acting as judge, jury and executioner, we have no balance of power,, our government is run like a Fascist Regime,, the role of Democrats is to take back the House and possibly the senate and make some changes about how this president failed to obey our nations laws, therefore we must vote to impeach..

My opinion and mine alone.

- Democrats believe your are responsible for yourself, your neighbors, your country, your future, and your children's future.
They are called left-wing. Liberal. They believe in government funding for the elderly and poor. They believe in doing right for the environment. Make love not war - bring our boys home. People who make more money should pay more taxes. Sin taxes are great (taxing alcohol, tobacco, etc...). Pro-abortion. Gays' are good people too.

- Republicans believe more in the individual.
They are called right-wing. Conservative. They believe in the church. They believe in guns (for self protection). Our country is the best if anyone doubts it; nuke 'em. The money you make is yours; everyone should pay the same amount in taxes. Anti-abortion. Marriage is man and woman.

My grandfather always said: "When you are young and spending other people's money, you are a Democrat. When you are older and married with kids, having bought a home and working to keep every dollar you make, you are Republican."
