My boyfriend's 17yrs old brother calls me a freeloader because I moved a state away from home to be closer. I live at my bf's parents and his brother lives with him. Neither of us pay rent because that's the agreement. I haven't found a job and applied at 9 places. So I help clean my bf's place and his parents place too. I do my own laundry but his brother's gf does his laundry. He doesn't clean house as much as I do because he says he's not there enough and he complains because I play video games when I'm not cleaning. My boyfriend doesn't charge his roommates enough rent so he's getting screwed. His brother in my opinion is a freeloader. He complains about helping get firewood for the winter and won't pay for heat if he gets firewood. He also talks back to my bf who is his supervisor at their work. I've helped pay some of the electric because it's high this month. But his brother won't. I don't want to live there til I get married, but his brother doesn't respect him. Help me!!!

I visit on the weekends. And I help around the house. But his brother thinks I practically live there and thinks that I'm a freeloader since I don't have a job and my boyfriend helps me with gas and food.

My boyfriend owns his house, but until we decide to get married he has roommates. I'm thinking maybe he should start making the other two roommates pay more rent.

Just take the first job you can get and save as much as you can. Explain to your bf that you don't want to free-load off him like others are doing and are going to save up money to find a place for the two of you...or just pay as many bills as you can. be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

You're not the freeloader....your bf's parents are paying the rent and you're putting out for your bf. Sounds like you're more 'kept' than mooching. Tell his bratty little brother to find a bf of his own.

You lost me somewhere, are you living there with them? Sounds like the brother is taking advantage of your b/f and is threatened by you, because he is scared that you are going to move in and make him stand on his own two feet. If I read the question right!

Please take a little advise from my sen-sai. Go home when you are well enough financially get married go to your own place where you are boss ,but by no means should you waste any more of your precios days in that sort of relationship you dont' move away until you are going to your own.
