i already have a new exhaust system bolted to the stock exhaust manifolds. so i need headers that have an outlet in the same spot as the stock exhaust manifolds. the engine is an '87 350(centerbolt) truck engine, so what kind of headers do i need to have an outlet exactly where the stock manifolds were?

They are called "center dump", or "street rod headers".

ya go the longtube way and make the exhaust fit the headers the added low end power you will get will bring back you sanity and sound good and headers are easy to put in if you go up from the bottom of the car or truck 3 hours tops and when your done just cuz you can tie up the exhaust and run them open for a little rip and listen to that chevy sound not for long though the cops might not like the sound so much

Any speed shop.

But you're probably going to need some custom pipe work to get it all hooked up. Most headers don't have their outlets at the stock locations; they wouldn't work properly if they did.

I think you should have picked the headers you wanted first. And, Then go to the local muffler shop. I prefer Hooker Header's with a set of flowmaster's or one depending on what car it is.

going to be hard to do but if you buy a set of long tube headers its not hard to cut the exhaust back to make it work or you might be able to try to find a set of shorty headers but good luck

Let a pro install your headers. Take it from me, they are a pain in the *** trying to install them while the engine is still in. Trust me, i build engines and swap engines for a living, its not worth your sanity.
