Jiri has not said he has retired. He said he wants to play again but doesn't know when he will be able to. Once a doctor will clear him to play he doesn't know if a team will take a chance on him.

I'm pretty sure that Jiri Fischer retired last year and said he wasn't coming back. he is not on the roster, but I think he did retire.

last i heard about fischer he was waiting to see if he could pass the required tests. if he can't come back he will retire. he said if he can't play hockey he will focus on his family. his family is as important as playing hockey is to him. i ain't heard any more about any new signings. they should trade for a better back up goalie in case hasek gets injured.
