Due to the way kids have been changing the way we all talk with slang expressions , since the 80's, dictionaries have since put in a lot of words that were not previously there! This just happens to be one! We were taught that the correct progression, is Stupid, more stupid, and most stupid! Been that way for centuries! Until now!

Here, let me use it in a sentence. You are stupider than the average person because you do not know if the word stupider exists

It's an adjective of stupid, stupider coincidentally sounds too stupid to be a real word, but it actually is according to the dictionary.

yes stupid-er is a word. it is in the dictionary. adjective.
although I as well agree, the use of "stupid-er" does sound as though adding er to the root word stupid, could very well make you seem to be the very definition of the word stupid-er than most. I would use more stupid or most stupid or as stupid as...

It has become more accepted since the 80 s in the United States. Not so much in England. I consider it and abuse of the English language. I prefer "more stupid" or "most stupid."

The answerer is wrong. Stupider is a valid construction. You will find it in any relatively complete dictionary that lists adjective variants of root words.
But, ultimately, both versions seem awkward. "More stupid" smacks of silly hypercorrection. Just use some synonym for "stupid" instead.

Yes. You should refer to a dictionary though as oppose to asking the opinions of people on the internet when the factual solution lies in a book that is readily available.
