Have you ever listened to Led Zepplin "Stairway To Heaven", or been to a Lynard Skynyrd (sorry if I can't spell) concert.
Well people light their lighters and hold them up high, there's two reasons; one to give respect to the band or song they are playing that touches your soul, and two to pay tribute to rock 'n' roll.
It started with the Hippies not the stoners. Get your information before you answer. Know your music, and know your history in music.

Well that all I remember. Then we got drunk, High and the darn girls started taking off their tops! Ain't women FUN????
I not bet that started it, but, I know we were lighting lighters. Actually cool looking, it involved the people.
But, us guys after we seen the girls take their tops off? ............ Well we been firing those lighters up ever since.
