because they haven't accepted jesus as their savior. god is very insecure about these things. seriously, either god doesn't exist or doesn't care. since this is science category, i say that nature weeds out the weak and there is no god to intervene.

Divine intervention-??? Re-phrase ur question....what do u mean...by divine intervention for cancer....God will cure cancer in third world countries? If he does...i will not go there..i'll be out of work....well come to think of it...i just hope he will intervene in the whole world...who cares about work when u will not see this suffering everyday...

As if there is divine intervention elsewhere!?
and if there will be divine intervention, would it be logic to "intervene" in cancer? what about the whole life crisis-es?
and if He does intervene, Why third world only?
Sad to tell you that i don't know, sorry!

It's hard to really know the actual behavior of God. It's also hard to witness such extreme pain. Perhaps God wants us to exercise and maximize our compassion, and until we do so he is not going to solve the problem for us. That's just one opinion, and I have no idea if it's correct. In my experience, God is nothing if not at least a little bit mysterious. Perhaps if we were all doing what we were supposed to be doing there would be no cancer, no need for it. Imagine a world where everyone was doing what they were supposed to be in terms of love, compassion and truthfulness, and with respect to greed. What a different place this would be...

because america doesn't want to waste a single dime "divinely intervening" with countries that don't have enough money to pay the western "deity".
