It's not supposed to right? I used to have cable broadband, but I recently switched to at&t (sbc) 2wire wireless DSL. Anytime the phone rings it disconnects from the internet. I have 3 computers, and they all do it. Only one runs off the wireless part of the 2wire router. All the equipment is new. I don't have call waiting or call forwarding. What should I do? PLEASE HELP!!!

Yes, I have plugs on every phone jack that say DSL and Phone. The phones are plugged in the phone port, and the DSL port that has the line going into the DSL router is plugged into the DSL port of the split jack. I double checked everything and they're all plugged in right.

I do have DishNetwork and one of the jacks has the Dish phone line plugged from the phone side of the split jack into the Dish reciever. But since this is on the phone side, it shouldn't mess with the DSL connection, right?

I hate sitting on the phone w/ customer service. I don't have an hour to kill right now, I was hoping someone on here would know something. I think the phone line installation may not be complete. It's a new line and DSL service too???

I dont know what they are called but ur supposed to get something that connects your phone wire through a split; 1 end plugs into wall, the other end, which has 2 sockets has one socket for the router and the other to the phone. All the phones in your house must have this connection or else ull get the disconnections that you get.

Did you remember to install the DSL filters? You know the ones that plug into your phone jacks and split 2 ways, one for a phone line and another for your DSL line?

you like a million clear out between each telephone, fax, modem or answering gadget related to the line besides with the aid of fact the only on the dsl modem. If one is defective or lacking you will get this difficulty. If all your connections have filters disconnect one clear out and it rather is kit at a time and ring the variety from a cell telephone, there is not any ought to respond to it. If removing one stops the subject, this is defective. If none of them is defective, replace certainly one of them for the only on the dsl modem. this ought to restore it.

You need to get some dsl filters, you plug them into the socket in the wall, the phone goes in one side, and the modem in the other, or just the phone, and then when the phone is in use, it wont cut off the internet and vice versa.

Did they send you the filters for all the phones in the house. The company I use has to have a little box between the wall inlet and the phone line itself.

That's very odd. It's not supposed to happen. I would suggest calling AT&T's tech support and talk with one of their representatives. They can guide you to your problem. Good luck!
