I don't usually red books, but the first book I read was probably one of the Berenstein Bears books. We had a bunch of those when I was growing up.
Actually, now that I think of it, I remember reading Doctor Seuss books a lot. And the "Goodnight" book. My first book could have been either the "Goodnight" book or one of Dr. Seuss' - most likely "Wacky Wednesday".

The first book that I read was The lion, the witch and the wardrobe by C.S Lewis. When I was a kid in school the librarian used to read books to us, she read this book but she didn't finish it. I got frustrated by this because I was enthralled so I borrowed the book and read it from cover to cover, as I also did with every Narnia book I could lay my hands on. I am a hardcore sci fi fantasy reader now and I owe it all to her.

I don't know how anyone can remember their first book.
It's not like losing one's virginity. More appropiate might be,
the first book that left an impression. The first book that
I remember that really left an impression was Rich Man, Poor
Man, which I read in seventh grade. Nothing before that
book seems to stand out.

The first book I ever read in memory would be the Poky Little Puppy but the first novel length would have been "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Never red a book before. But I do recall reading a book once about a red (Scarlet) letter. Does that count? :-)
