how powerfull is duocore intel compare to amd x2 with the same frequency?

Ok I had a P4 @ 3.2 Ghz with a gig of ram..(laptop)
Running Seti at home I would be able to do SIX work units a day..

NOW I have a DUO CORE T2500 laptop with a gig of ramand I am averaging 59 a day...with NO overheating..thats a HUGE difference

Core 2 Duo is the fastest right now, athlon x2 is also fast.
