Microsoft Word: Help me! Help me! How do I get rid of this annoying thing!?

I accidentally pressed some combination of keys and now that Paragraph symbol (P with two lines through it or whatever) keeps going everywhere with my "enters!" Help, they're so freaking annoying and I just want to type without them being everywhere, thanks.

Ok I know how to do this, I just have to go to Word and look at it. I'll be right back.

Ok, on my Word tool bar at the top, just to the right of where you can change the size of what you are looking at from 100% to 75% etc, there is a little downward arrow, which, if you hover over it, says TOOLBAR OPTIONS. Click on this and you'll see abunch of symbols starting with the one that is Format Painter ( again you have to hover over them to see what each one is called. On mine the 5th one looks like a backwards P with the top part of the P blacked in. This is the Show/Hide button. This is what is making your paragraphs show. Click on it to get rid of them.

Sorry this is so complicated but I don't know how else to explain it

Tools - Options - View - Formatting Marks - untick the Paragraph Marks

Put anything you have made on MS Word on a disc. If you have the CD, go to settings, control panel, add or delete and delete it. Then reinstall it.
