Men are confused that's why.
A decisive woman who defines a relationship can be a relief.
Over the past 30 years the traditional roles for men have been stripped from them. No longer are we the Protector, the Problem Solver, the Leader, Head of Household, the Final Word. Our choices are regarded with doubt and skepticism.
Thirty years of media has bashed the 'male as role model' in the situation comedies and film rendering them into mere buffoons, ineptly stumbling through life.
Sexual harassment laws have put the power directly in the woman's hand, to the deciding point of a third party guessing at intent is encouraged to report said male in the workplace.
Women have claimed their rights to their own bodies, the rights for revenge when 'done wrong', the rights to wear skimpy outfits to work (and play) and pick when the right man notices and yell to high heaven with the wrong man does.
Women have been crying 'victim!' for so long that men are forced to dance to their tune -- in the marriage, in the workplace and in the bar.
A woman that will openly define who she is and what she wants without making us guess is a relief.
Nice women, loving and caring in their hearts -- still hold all the cards as much as any woman does. Until a woman can understand that the responsibility is theirs to define status, define structure and define balance -- she will always have an uneven relationship because the man has been stripped of his archetypal role!
Men basically are responding in four ways --
1) virile seeming jerk
2) passive beyond belief
3) approaching you with great doubt
4) simply giving up.
Woman - the power is yours so the onus is yours as well.

Good question. However, men could ask that same question. Not all men go for the bitchy, mean woman, just like some women do not always go after thug-punks, but sometimes it happens Just like with women, it is a matter of low self esteem. If you don't love and believe in yourself, you will attract people who will walk over you.

I don't want a hard and woman who'd treat me bad! I'm glad I married a gentle and sweet (not mentioning hot and sexy) soul who has gone through some truly rough times with me. When some other girls may have left, she stuck through with me! For that, I am eternally gratful!
You certainly sound like the jewel some truly blessed man need. If you are single, don't give up hope! There are still good guys, guys you'll want to stick with, waiting for you.

I don't think you are really looking around at all men. What you see it not the true picture.
I think you should find a different group of friends or place to go because your seeing such a small part of men and women

It's a question of self-confidence. Some men desperately don't want to be alone...so they will tolerate the abuse of their wives...same goes the other way. ; )
Hope this helps

no self respect or they saw their mother was this way with their father and he took it, so they beleive this is the way to be treated by a woman.
In contrast, a woman who treats them with respect is probably looked at this type of man as not normal.
Don't waste your time with this type of person.
