how do you claculate the slope of a trend line on a graph on Microsoft Excel?

double click on the tread line and click the box to "Display Equation on Chart" under the "Options" tab.

the line equation should appear on the graph in the format:
y=mx + a where "m" is the slope and "a" is the y-intercept

I think you need the "linest" function for that.
