I don't see why someone would lie about that. I know some people pretend to be survivors for attention, but I still think there are real survivors out there. How does anyone profit from the holocaust?

Well, the holocaust museums are making a profit...and Hitler gained a lot of fame...
But, I agree with you that it's completely real and that no one would be able to make up such a tremendous lie without being caught.

Nobody profits from the holocaust, and if it is illegal to deny it in some countries is just because mankind cannot be allowed to forget such a shameful event in history, just because it must never be allowed to be repeated.
Could you imagine anyone wearing a t-shirt praising Auschwitz? of course not, it is stupid, and disrespecful.
Many governments still carry the price of the holocaust, this might be true, and even some swiss banks still fight having to pay holocaust victims, and this costs have to be met. It was a crime comited in the name of governments and institutions, and since you cannot put any in jail, then they have to pay for it.
Most funds are spent in maintaining campaigns and museums, trying not to let people forget, trying to make everyone conscious of the fate of the victims. Try to look at all the information available online, read as many books as you can stomach on the subject, if you can afford it visit the site of the death camps. And then, tell everyone you know about the shameful event in the history of our civilization, so that it will never be allowed to happen.

Mr. Finklelstein is a Jew and the son of Holocaust survivors.

It's not a hoax. It really happened. The German Nazis were too efficient in everything they did and left many detailed records behind, including lists and photographs. And there were many,many witnesses, including guards and other people who were not prisoners.
People who deny the Holocaust today are either the victims of an extremely poor educational system or one that is very anti-Semitic (like Iran's). The only ones who really profited from the Holocaust (or tried to) were the Nazis who stole personal property including jewelry, art, money, and real estate from their victims or the German factory owners who used slave labor or sold materials to the German government that was used to build the concentration and death camps.

The holocaust was no hoax. I have talked with many survivors while researching a paper for college. Many survivors live in the Midwest. I have seen the numbers tatooed on their arms. I have read many books by survivors. I have heard first hand their accounts of the concentration camps and the conditions. Trust me it is no hoax.

Some of the camp commandants and SS guards made fortunes during the holocaust. Their families are still wealthy.
Banks in Switzerland have untold wealth which was deposited by people who were later murdered in the death camps.
There are still real survivors, but very few are left.
You may be interested in a book which tells stories of some of the people who were rescued by Oskar Schindler. It is called "Schindler's Legacy".

Lawyers and such. In Germany and other European countries, it is AGAINST THE LAW to deny or minimize the Holocaust. Therefore, lawyers make out like bandits when someone is put on trial for exercising freedom of speech.

PS: I guess the "official" number of dead in the Holocaust is six million. I wonder how many you have to claim were killed to be prosecuted as a "Holocaust denier" - 5 million? 4 million? 5,999,999?

The only profit from the Holocaust is to learn from it and to say "never again".
But the truth is genocides are still happening in our world today.

Israel still does. Germany still pays for them. Can anyone imagine paying plus tax for a war when even your parents weren't exist?!? and i red somewhere that the 2/3 of the real survivors, who live in israel, live under the minimum level. so what does israel with the money from the german people?! cause apparently it doesn't go into the survivors's pocket.
anyway i think it happened but in smaller volume than 6million.

The holocaust happened.
The motives behind the people saying it "was created for profit" are usually racially motivated, and as everyone knows, racists are not people who make alot of sense! (Now thats science!)
