You'll never have enough money for a baby, because you'll always want or need something else. Me and my husband make that much money estimated a month, and we have 2 kids. We waste nothing and learn how to shop thrifty. Some people make less money and have more kids, and they somewhat make it.

I don't think there is any set amount that you can say is enough. It's not about affording a baby but what 'life' happens while you are raising a baby and you and your husband will still have your needs too. The unexpected will always happen like car repairs, broken bones, broken appliances, etc. The things that come up after you spend the $800 on bills will always vary. If you and your husband are menatlly and emotionally ready and both have secure incomes then, why not? You can't really put a pricetag on raising a child. Remember life happens and it can be very unpredictable.

Do some research online and in local stores on how much things cost. You say 800 goes to bills. does that include your rent or mortgage? Consider the cost of the necessities like clothes, diapers, formula, etc. and other things that are good to have like medical insurance, maybe an RESP, As long as all the necessary things fit into your budget,(try to see about saving a percentage of your earnings every month too) then you know you'll be fine. Also, are you planning on working afterwards still? If so you will have to consider child care as well, if not you will have to consider only your husband's income.

Honeslty, your never going to be prepared for the costs of a baby no matter what you make. You do make great money, but you may end up having to stay home with the baby. Therefore, your income could change drastically. Just be prepared for whatever life throws at you. Things change so much once that little angel is here. Good luck !!!!

Is that including rent/mortgage? How much do you have in savings? How long do you think you will be able to work? You have to consider, just in case of complications. Also, if you plan on going back to work after the baby is born it is going to cost you about $800 a month for daycare, unless you have a relative willing to babysit.

I think so. Baby is most expensive in the first year. But after that it's not so financially draining. Make sure you have health insurance. If you and your husband are ready to be parents then your income really is not of importance. It helps but ....

Yes, Babies really aren't That expensive. Just Spend your money wisely. If you have a baby shower, then you'll get alot of help with diapers, clothes..etc...so you wont have to worry about those for a couple of months.
