I went online and read about the activities of the state's congress and was suprised at how much is done on a daily basis. I was also suprised to see a couple of items in the newpaper later that day. We would all be much better informed if we actually paid attention to bills introduced by our political leaders.

I have attended a couple, but watch them on our government station. It really is fascinating to see how government works since it really is not like what most people think it is.
There is a lot of mundane issues, and some places don't give enough notice of what will be covered, but it is the best way to TRULY know what is going on without spin.

I think if more people DID pay attention, more politicians would be more accountable for their behavior and votes...

Being an election day in Arizona and when I went to vote at my precinct, I happen to see the minutes of the last chapter meeting similar to a town council meeting within the Navajo reservation. Some if it pertained to mundane stuff - pulling of noxious weeds - and some small scale stuff but there were some interesting things concerning tribal legislation. I just wished my local representatives were more in tune with the broader issues.

I have, it was all very interesting, it was many years ago while I was in high school, what we went for was voted against so we were all upset but it was a learning experience...

yep... from local townships, to the county level... to the state level and federal... our government is huge and a lot is going on... it's just not presidents working...
