I just used their click and ship at USPS.com and dropped the mail in the box and now I realized that thing was more heavy than what I thought...

It's great for your local postmaster that you used Click&Ship. Your short-paid package may or may not be caught. I'd advise the recipient that you made an error and would be glad to reimburse them for any postage due.

In the meantime go into your local post office, ask to speak to the postmaster or to the retail supervisor. Tell them you are new to Click&Ship and need some advice on using it. USPS often offers free balance scales which can weigh items up to six pounds to new customers.

I believe if it's over a certain amount they will send it back to you, otherwise they will deliver it and have the recipient pay the extra postage. Either way, they're probably going to be really p.o.'d
You need to get a postage scale if you're going to be shipping stuff regularly.

It will probably arrive at the destination with postage due and someone will have to pay it before the mailman leaves it. Why not call and alert someone so they will be aware that it may happen?

I believe they stopped practicing c.o.d. long ago.
They will probably either deliver the package and bill you, or (and this is more likely,) they will send it back and charge you for the handling and return fee.

The person receiving the package will have to pay the difference or they will return it to you.
