I would call your OB's office tonight! I lost my mucus plug at 21 weeks and lost my baby girl the next day. Better safe than sorry.

Dont freak out! a little blood is normal with the loss of the plug. you should be fine. even if you go into labor now, you have plenty of time. I would wait to go to the hospital for as long as possible (unles you are high risk) just stay home and try to relax. call your ob in the morning. unless you are having contractions less than 10mins apart, she will probably tell you to stay home. oh, and what it means is that your cervex is softening to prepare for labor. some people lose thir plugs weeks in advance.... i lost mine a few days before... CONGRATS!! GOOD LUCK :)

ADD ON.....
Oh, i didnt see the 31wks part. but it is still normal. as long as you are not having contractions you should be fine waiting until morning to call. just be careful not to get an infection.....and dont let everyone freak you out...

Just call a labor and delivery nurse at your hosptial and ask. It doesn't sound like you lost all of it, cuz there would have been more bloody show.. Everyone freaks out about losing thier mucus plug when the truth is you can walk around for weeks without one and it just means your cervix is softening.. Don't let everyone on here freak you out..

I always lose my plug around 30 weeks and then sowly dilate and efface over the next 7-10 weeks before giving birth.

Know that any manipulation of the cervix could cause it to dilate more and efface more and could bring on labor sooner than if you left the cervix alone!

I lost my mucus plug for my first child at 30 weeks and for my second about 33 weeks so i have to say it's normal but you should still ask your doctor just to check. you probably didn't;t loose the whole plug though . I didn't loose them completely with either child .

yes, It sounds like a mucus plug. Mine was yellow at first, then it turned to redish brown after a couple days. Then my water broke the next morning. You should let your doctor know asap.

Call your doctor...you will know for sure if it's your mucous plug...it's BIG and MUCOUSY :)
I wouldn't take a bath or have sex until I talk to my doctor. Just to stay clear of infection and protect your darling baby.
This may be just a little 'extra' discharge, don't get too worried or worked up until you talk to you doctor.
Call him/her now, or call the hospital...they'll tell you what to do.
Good luck with this and congrats on the sweet bebe!!

Yeah it sounds like you lost it and somewhat early. Call your ob and just take it easy until you hear from him/her. Try to watch for contractions. Your not in labor unless your having contractions. Losing your plug is a sign your body is getting ready.

The same thing happened to me, and I had nothing to worry about. My son was also a week later and would have stayed longer if he wasnt evicted. ;) I wouldnt be worried, it just means that your body is preparing to do what comes naturally. But dont listen to what anyone else says, if you feel something is wrong, get it checked! Go with your 'motherly' instinct.
