I see the point you're trying to make. It makes sense with "American" white culture that things are stolen, borrowed, blended, etc. American is a melting pot in some places. I live in L.A. & I love learning about other countries' traditions, foods, customs. What about German traditions, irish traditions, French traditions? In history there are some predominantly white countries like Ireland, Scotland, England (forgive me if I'm wrong about which countries, my sis is the history major but you get my point?). And those countries most definitely have interesting histories along with traditions & customs, past & present.

I don't know where you get off saying Italians are not white because of black hair. My grandfather was of English background and had black hair and my German grandmother had black hair. Most of my family has a dark complexion and our Origins are only Northern Europe and the British isles.
To say there is no white culture is total racism on your part. You obviously failed history class. Before Christianity "Whites" had there own religions, own writing systems. Ever heard of Thor? That is a German God that Vikings worshiped. The Celts had Druidism.
White or the more correct term Aryans came from Central Asia. One group went to India and founded Hinduism, the other to Iran and founded Mithraism and Zoroastrianism.. Some from Iran settled in Western Turkey and founded the Hittite Empire. Others went to Greece. When the Hittite empire collapsed many flooded into Europe.
It is the same with black culture and asian culture, you cant say it with those terms. Black culture is based more on which tribe you belong to. If you are a Zulu then you would say Zulu culture, if you are a Fang you would say Fang culture since in Africa everything is tribal based, not race based like how things are in the Americas.
Chinese would be upset if you said Japanese share a culture with them so Asian culture would not be correct.
Mexican culture makes no sense at all and the aztec natives would be offended by that.

White people for the most part are Western European so if culture is defined as going back to the ancestoral roots, that is our culture. And yes, white people have black hair - Irish americans quite often have black hair and bright blue eyes. My father had black hair and was 4th generation Californian.
Look to the European dances, dress, and food. You say you don't want to sound racist, but really aren't you?
American has always been a melting pot of cultures, and some are more interested in staying true to ancestoral culture than others.

Well think about your question, which is racist. Culture isn't color. Culture is where people came from. So you would have to look at whites in America as having an American culture which is a melting pot of a bunch of different things as you mentioned. Germans for instance, a lot of them are fair skinned, yet their culture is quite different than the fair skinned people in the United States. There are even whites in Africa that celebrate an African Culture.
White can't have a tradition because white is the color assigned to my skin color...not where my family came from.
Black can't have a culture because it is the color assigned to skin, not where their family came from.
What I want to know is why do people have to continually separate themselves into white and black and Hispanic and Asian...why can't you accept that to become a united people cultures need to unite and each person must understand and accept that everyone can have their own celebrations. Now I don't mean that something like KKK should exist because that is just hate...even Black Panthers can be seen as being about hate.
MLK Jr had a true point, quit seeing color and race and culture and join hands with your neighbor and work and live together in peace and harmony. Don't make it so that man died in vain. Change our world by changing your view on mankind. We are not separated...we are one.

Ok... let's get specific... white people can trace their heritage to other countries where there are other white people... i.e. Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany and so forth... over time, they have melted into other heritages to become an American heritage. Just like you... you are not a true African... you are a black American... if you were a real African, you would practice things in your everyday life that would now seem odd to you... you are an American... so does that mean that you have no culture to define either? No. It just means that American is your culture,as it is mine. That is what America is all about. :)

It is because "white" people come from all different European countries. Irish people have their own culture, German people have their own, French, Swedish, etc all have their own cultures. You can't lump all white people into one category and expect us to have one culture because we didn't all come from the same place.
My father is German and my mother is Irish and French. Three very distinct countries yet everyone views me as just being white. My culture comes from all three of those countries. And yes, everything American is borrowed from other places because no one is native to this country except American Indians.

ur tryin to get a detail from a generalisation.... There are just too many 'white' cultures to expect 1 to be the rule. I dare say there are numerous sub cultures within the African American demigraphic too.

There are many "White" customs that Americans have. Isn't everyone Irish on St. Patrick's day? After thinking about it this question isn't really worthy of an answer.

WTF?! Go to eastern europe and you will be surprise by how many white people there have black hair.
This question is so stupid on many levels. That's basically like as say african american stole white american culture. They were basically nothing when they got off boat and they were forced to live in other culture for over 200 years. They borrowed pretty much everything from white american.
Who do you think come up with skirt? White american!
Who do you think come up with hotdog? American!
Who do you think come up with sport of basketball? White american!
Do I need to go on?
Don't even get me started on Europe. I was there and it is a totally different world.
Here's answer on whether race is based on hair color.
