If I do something wrong, I am very quick to apologize and do whatever I can to make things right. I do find that it goes a very long way. I think my people know that I am an honorable person who takes responsibility for my actions and I think that it has saved and / or strengthened a number of my relationships.

If someone apologizes to me sincerely, I am very likely to say "That's ok" and forget it much quicker than if they don't and we are just supposed to act like nothing happened.

Peace!

Yes, I find that when I apologize it usually gets the other person to calm down quite a bit and not be so angry. But it has to be a real apology. "I'm sorry I made you feel bad" is better than, "I'm sorry if you thought I was being mean".

Also, if someone apologises to me, it makes me a lot more likely to forget the whole problem.

i don't know how far it goes...i try to apologize in person, so it really only goes as far as the other person's ear and then my apology floats in there...usually about 3-5 feet. i try not to say i'm sorry from the length of a football field...

If you are apologizing for some thing you said, Its the hardest to take back.Saying mean and hurtful things can not be forgotten. They can forgive to a point but it sticks to they back of your mind.
