And the very end of the "mega-happy ending", Wayne and Garth say, "Fishnet!" and pretend that they are getting caught by a fishing hook. What does that mean?! For those who wish to answer my question, thank you! :)

I thought they always said "Fished in!" That's what they said on the SNL sketch, and I thought that's what it was in the movie.

At any rate, it means they did a "gotcha" on the audience.

When the fishermen go out to sea and are trolling for fish with their big net, they'll bring them up with a full load. When the net is set on the deck of the boat, you'll see all the fish flopping around and gasping. That's what Wayne and Garth were doing. Sounds like an unhappy ending to me.
