No it is not normal to have ANY kidney stones. So that is the answer to your question. NO it isn't normal.

Your doctor should have you screening your urine to trap the stones so they can be sent to the lab for analysis. Some stones are caused by excess calcium in your diet (too much milk), and others it is related to other dietary items. A third kind just forms and you can't prevent them.

They are very painful. But the good news is that 75% of the time a change to diet will help. See the link below for more information. Also drink lots and lots of water to make them pass more quickly.

Each stone does a minimal (but over time significant )amount of damage to cells in your kidneys. So your MD should be interested in helping you with prevention.

I would assume that it is probably not normal. You could look up kidney stones on www.webmd.com. Whenever I have a medical question, I find the answer there 98% of the time. I'm sorry you have gone through so much pain in so little time. Good Luck! (if you dont find the answers there, you should consider talking to your doctor about it to find out what you can do to try and avoid these problems in the future!)

I suggest you first contact a Nephrologist, who is a kidney specialist. Then, you need to look at your diet and drink habit. You have to drink lots of pure water everyday, stay from foods that contribute to kidney stones. See the National Kidney Foundations site online for more informaiton.
