I went to my doctor last month and told her my left index finger has been hurting. When I wake up in the morning my finger is stiff and hurting real bad. I cannot grip or pick up anything with it. She told me I had what is called a "trigger finger".About a week ago the same thing is happening to the same finger on my right hand.I don't think that this has anything to do with a trigger finger. The pain is in the joint and is swollen.I cannot bend them without it hurting. Can someone please tell me if you have any of these symptons and what do I do about it.I have been on my job for 25 years and I do a lot of typing and staring at the computer all day. We also have to log down every call we get, so I'm not only typing I'm writing also. Now, when I try to type, write or pick up anything my hands hurt. I'm concerned as to why it started with the right hand and now the left hand. It hurts worse when I get up in the morning. The pain goes all the way down to my thumb on both hands.

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. Could be arthritis. Try rubbing Bio-Freeze on the sore spots. A good investment is a hot-wax machine. The local rehab place used to give me treatments and it really helped my hands and fingers feel better. Felt so good I went out and bought myself a machine from Walmarts.
