My position description says I work under general supervision; however, I may go two or three weeks without seeing my supervisor. I am never given direction and when I ask a question it is usually ignored. He often bypasses me in giving my people work and allows them to go directly to him then holds me accountable for their errors. He does not allow me to do the work detailed in my PD but writes me down in my evaluations for not meeting standards. My PD states I coordinate with other local, state and federal agencies but I am not allowed to do so and I get written up for failing to communicate. He has directed me to lie and instructed me on how to do so. He has made work miserable; he does not allow me to do my job, has told me I am not to talk to Human Resources and agencies my PD directs me to do so; basically making work impossible to the point that my performance is severally hampered. I almost hate to go to work, and I always fear I am going to be fired .

What you just described, is pretty much it. He obviously has something to hide if he dosen't want you to report to Human Resources. No boss does that! My advice is find another job or go directly to the guy above your boss. It's best to get it over with than to spend years living like this.

I reported non policy and illegal actions on the part of my manager to my regional manager. Ever since then all my work is checked over and all my work emails are forwarded to the regional manager. My supervisor watches over my shoulder and any mistake even though corrected, is highlighted and forwarded also. The regional manager told me I would make a horrible manager and he would never hire me. This was said in front of other employees. I am in fear of losing my job and the environment at work is so stressful for me I don't even want to go in any more. I come home crying and I have pains in my chest and trouble breathing. I used to love my job.
