Well, the yogurt it self is not directly good for an infection... Milk is very hard for the body to digest and can on occasion make it worse..

It is good because when you take an Antibiotic it usually kills all the live culters to eliminate the infection. By eliminating these it can cause some digestion issues and stomach pains. It is advised that you take the Yogurt with active live culters inorder to replace those that were killed making it easier for your body to process as normal and should eliminate stomach aches.

I am not a doctor, if this is something your M.D. perscribed, I would suggest getting further professional medical advice before proceeding.

Yes it is true but not on all infections. Most of the time if you are on antibiatics the yogurt adds a big boost to the medication to cure the infection faster. The live culture in yogurt is very good for the body and a pretty good partner in fighting off a bug.

Sometimes when you take an antibiotic, the antibiotic kills the beneficial bacteria in the digestive system and diarrhea results. Eating yogurt restores the beneficial bacteria. It really does help with yeast infections. If I had a stomach virus, I'd eat yogurt, with the hopes of getting better.

I have suffered from bladder infections for 5 years now, and just the other day, I was told that plain yogurt kills the bacteria that causes the infections. I particularly don't like any kind of yogurt, but I think you should give it a try-- and let me know what happens!!

yeast infection, it is said to help with. i believe the acidopholus in the yogurt and replaces the good bacteria lost when either on antibiotics or even steroids. so instead of taking an acidopholis pill eat the yogurt. just dont insert it when you are having a yeast inf. my mom told me to do that and it was very messy.

Plain yogurt with acidolphfilous (spelling?) is good to prevent yeast infections...I've been told that certain medicines break something down in the body and make it easier for you to get a yeast infection . I think it also helps the stomach lining, while on certain meds. I think it is best to ask your doctor this....possibly a young doctor who doesn't poo poo this kind of stuff.

It doesn't cure the infection. But when you take antibiotics (to kill the bacteria that caused the infection) they also kill good bacteria that you need in your stomach and intestines to properly digest food. The good bacteria can be replaced by eating yogurt. But it is pointless if you are not taking antibiotics.

I've only heard that it helps with yeast infections. You should eat it when you're taking an antibiotic to keep from getting one.

If you're on antibiotics you might want to eat yogurt to replace the positive bacteria back into your stomach
