I have a guinea pig that's attracting them. I keep the cage clean weekly, but I still can't keep the fruit flies away.

Yeah- they are a pain. Just clean up all the food, including display food like bananas or apples, scrub the counters well. Drain any water that is sitting out (it's a breeding ground) and empty all the trash cans. You might want to clean your toilet too while you are at it.

Clean clean clean... Take out the trash, lysol & or bleach everything that you think might be spawing the flies..wipe surfaces, laundry areas, garbage areas, sinks, showers, toilets, cabinets under sinks etc etc...
After flies comes mice, after mice comes rats, after rats comes racoons after racoons comes the board of health to manually evict you.

They are a form of fruit fly. Remove over ripe fruit. Once their food source is gone....they're gone.
