Because we are human. It's difficult for us to reach a place where we accept that not only do we NOT know the answer to the most important questions a sentient being would ask, but that we will NEVER know the answers to most of these questions.

I can see how it would be easier to believe in all-knowing moon cats then to accept the fact that our minds have a far greater capacity to ask questions then our 5 senses and IQ's do to answer them.

**Oh, and no offence to mournyngwolf, but I wouldn't recommend wasting time on the "What the bleep do we know?" flick. I'm no expert in the field, but I don't think it's wise to try and learn about quantum physics from a video that has a person who claims to be speaking for a 35,000-year-old "seer" from the Lost Continent of Atlantis. LMAO! It's just a recruitment film for some cult called "Ramtha". ***

The Astral is really three dimensions. We call it Heaven.
The first dimension has a lot of psychic" trash". Then on
to the third heaven which is Paradise. 2 Corinthians 12.
There is supposed to be an Akashic Library on the Astral
that has all the recorded information about what has happened
on our world since the beginning.
The Bible mentions unicorns, and satyrs in Isaiah somewhere,
around the 30s or 40s chapters.

It's like opening a door. Some people assume that anything more than what others have acces to has got to hold all the answers. So, they go through the first door and take everything there at face value.

Kind of like people who get answers here, and assume that everything was written by a veteran expert in the subject. I've seen some truly frightening inaccurate answers chosen as best, because they told the other person what they wanted to hear.

{EDIT} Compliments to mournyngwolf above for an exception, a well written answer that was also to the point. And bonus for the reference to "What the Bleep do you Know" -- great movie.

Last time I checked they were just trods inhabited by people who want to believe they're truely something special.

Its fantasy, all of it.

Now that thats upset y'all

Personally, I think of the astral as an envisioning of the collective unconcious, the reason they're there is because people have taken the thought and ideas that links us all on a spiritual level and made it pink and fluffy by going around calling themselves Lord this and/or that of the Dome of Apollo. Or the like. Its a way to make them feel they have some legitimate claims to their beliefs, and who are we to shed away the schitzophren....... I mean..... beliefs of others?

many people have what are scientifically called altered states of consciousness. these fall into different catagories. lucid dreams, out of body experiences (ASTRAL Projection), near death experiences and the like. many of these people describe thier journey through these realms of non physical reality. different dimensions, different realities etc. many come across a place there called the Akashic records, think of it as a giant internet. or giant library. like a search engine on the internet you ask a question to the akashic records and like a search engine all data knowable about that subject of your question floods at you. ALL THINGS KNOWABLE. which kind of tells you if you ask vague questions your gonna get a lot of vague info, like how big is that field? you will get the count of every atom molecule every blade of grass from every time all on that one field. this place does exsist there are ways to see this. for instance some people that have made a big impact on society seem to know a wealth of things at one time. like tesla (electricty) leanardo da vinci (had working design drawings of a helicopter and submarine 500 years ago!) and benjamin franklin (started mail, started public libraries started so many social programs for the new america) where did these people learn so much in such a short time? i think its from the akashic records.

now about your creatures, i will say this, go watch a movie called "what the bleep do we know?" its a documentary of laymans terms of a new science called quantum physics. this will show you that the truth lies solely on the person watching. this means that the observer who observes controls to a large degree that which is observed. that means in simple terms you see what you believe. if you believe whole heartedly in these creatures then they will peek thier heads around corners and smile at you. which reminds me i have a couple dragons that need some attention
have a good day!

For the same reason people believe in the Christian God or any other god/goddess.
