i was just wondering if i HAD to go see an ob/gyn to get a birth control prescription. or can see my family physican? r there any female ob/gyns in the country? any info will be appreciated. ty!

Most dr's will give you a prescription for BC, but you usually have to have a pap smear and pelvic exam before they will give it to you. There are quite a few female ob/gyn's, Mine is a female and I love her! I've never had such a great dr!

Your family doc can prescribe your Rx (prescription). You will probably need a check up before doing so. Yes, there are female ob/gyns in the country.

Most doctors will require that you have a pelvic exam and a normal pap smear before they prescribe you birth control. The best thing to do would be to see a gyn since they specialize in women's health.

Yes, there are female OB/GYN's in the US. Advise you check your insurance company website and search your area for this specialist.

When I first got put on birth control I saw my family dr. However they will want to give you a physical every year before they renew your perscription, but thats in your best interest.

many family physicians will do your gynecological exam for you and will therefore prescibe birth control. and there are many female ob/gyns out there.

you can see your family doctor to get birth control. they will do a pap smear and they will require one every year for you to refill the prescription...yes, there are some female obgyn's just try looking in your local yellowpages...

In Canada your family physician can do the physical and pap required to get and stay on the pill.

if you have never been on any, yes you have to be seen. you have many options of who you can see, fam doc,ob, clinic, there are many options. ask who ever you decide to see if you have to be seen to try the new ''nevou ring'' everyone i know uses it and loves it.......
