An electron microscope can be used to view living organisms. A light microscope is best for viewing dead, sliced organisms.

any optical hobby microscope will work. They usually have settings at 10x, 40x, and 100x. At either of the 2 higher settings you will be able to see plankton and phytoplankton. They are multi-celled organisms, so they are fairly big relatively speaking. You can get this type of microscope at a toy store or hobby store for less than $50.00.

This is an "educated" guess based on High School and College work. A total magnification of 400 - 600x should allow to do most of your work.

You can get a decent microscope in a hobby store, but a professioal, precision instrument is quite expensive.

hand-crafted soup. My all time accepted is LOVe Soup. [Left Over Vegetable.] I oftentimes make this after the weekend, even as i have not given each and every of the leftovers to Callie [my canines]. sometimes there is little of the beef left from the weekend, so as that is going in with the greens too.
