Hi people,

I am TTC. My periods have been pretty regular and my last period was around 25-26 July. However, last month it came about 4 days earlier on 22 Aug. It normally lasts 5 days but this one lasted for only about 3-4 days. The flow didn't seem too heavy as it normally would be. Would it be possible that it's implantation bleeding?

I have also had constant cramps, which I only get during menstruation or mid-cycle, since 22 Aug till now. I have tried a couple of HPTs but they were all negative. The last one I tried was yesterday. If what I had was implantation bleeding, then how long does it take to be tested positive?

I have no other "possible signs" except for the constant cramps, a bloated stomach which never subsided after the "so-called" period and slight sensitivity to my nipples.

What do you think? Appreciate any comments or advice.

I am 28 years old and had been smoking since 20 years old. Do you think this will minimise the chances of me conceiving?

Also, how long does it normally take for a HPT to be tested positive from the time you have conceived?

the only sure way to know is taking a blood test at the doctor. Otherwise anyones guess is as good as yours. Implantation bleeding only makes a little blood, like a spot when you wipe. But you can bleed during pregnancy. Every woman is different so go take a bood test.

good luck

It is over 20 days since your odd period, and your HPT came up negative. You are not pregnant. Some pregnancy tests can detect pregnancy before you even MISS a period. Taking a test almost a month later could easily detect if you were pregnant. If you are still worried, go to the doctor and get a blood test.

My guess would be that you are not pregnant, BUT it sounds like something is not quite right. Your age will make a big differance in what i am about to say so keep that is mind. I had my first child at a very young age and had no symptoms that i was pregnant. My latest child was at a normal age and I just missed my period. My guess would be that you have something else in there going on and i would suggest going to the doctor. There is allot up in there that can go wrong and cause major problems if not resolved. Good Luck.

Well in all my personal case i tested positive 7 days after my missed period , so i f you haven't tested positive by now you are probably not pregnant , however you should see you're doctor perhaps there is something else causing this problem . i knew someone who had this happen and it was thyroid problem which caused alot of problems with her period.

that's all the symptoms I had when I was pregnant, but I did a hpt, and it came out with only the vertical line of the plus sign...so here I am at 4 in the morning driving to the drug store to get another one, and two next two I took consecutively said I was pregnant.
