It's something that is offered to inviduals on a special-case basis.
It's not something that you can apply for.

It is very rare for a regular (not co-mason) lodge of Freemasons to offer accelerated degrees. You proceed at the speed at which you can pass your proficiency in each degree. When John Wayne became a freemason, he completed all three degrees in two days, memorizing about 20 pages of material between each degree in order to proceed to the next. They say he was word-perfect. This is not typical. Most men take about 6-7 months to proceed through all three degrees. On rare occasions, a Grand Lodge will offer what is called a Grand Master's class, in which all three degrees are conferred in one day. It is then up to the Worshipful Master of each individual Lodge to determine proficiency for the men who do three degrees in a day. I was in a Grand Master's class and I missed out on a lot of the work between each degree. I am now Junior Warden of my Lodge, and regularly fill the Senior Deacon part in nearby Lodges during degree work (and give the Fellowcraft lecture), but I feel that I played catch up for my first two or three years because I did not take the time to work my way through the degrees.

I am quite curious as to why any Freemason of any Order would wish to go through accelerated degrees? Seriously, what does Masonry offer you if not a chance to change yourself? What makes one so certain that you have changed enough to warrant going through degree after degree in a few days? I ask this on The Level.

In my Order it takes at least 5 months to move from Entered Apprentice to Fellowcraft. And we open in 1st degree every time. Then you test for proficiency. After that it takes another seven months until you are ready to test for proficiency in Fellowcraft. So, no one becomes a Master until they have been in the Craft for at least a year. Then the York degrees all require a year in between.

Alchemy is a slow process. Many of our Masters will not make it to 18th, far fewer to 30th.

Just a question. Perhaps it does not merit your reply here. I guess I do not understand masculine rite Freemasonry.
