As a mother of two boys and one girl, now all grown. I feel that the laws need to be changed. I am not saying it is right for male of 20 to be sexual with girl 16, but be considered predator? What do u think?

no.

in some of these cases parents (and i'm one myself) will go out and get upse that their daugther is humping a 20 year old..would i? yes i would be upset..what the hell is a 16 year old doing with a 20 year old to begin with? but if its an innocent love and more than likely it would be..its wrong that a parent can easily go out and ruin a young horny mans life all because he was dating someone 4 years younger than him

now if youre 20 and messing with a 13 year old then that's a problem.

the majority of sexual predators aren't actually pedaphiles. they are teens ...say 18 year olds who dated a 16 or 17 year old and the parents DIDN'T like that (like that one poster up there. he proves my point) and called the cops. now the kids marked for life. that's not right.

There are so many shades of gray that the law refuses to see. I don't see 2 consensual people having sex as being an issue if they are mature enough to accept the possible consequential outcomes. Therefore I don't see the person should be considered a predator. What if a guy who's 17 was dating a girl who's 16... then he turns 18... and they've been having sex before he was 18. Should he suddenly break up with her now? I too feel that law needs an amendment of some sorts.

If he has a history of sleeping with all of his girlfriends who happen to be a teenager, then that makes him a sexual predator. However a 20 year old who has sex with a teen under 18 is still considered a statutory rapist.

he knows he shouldn't be messin' around with the girl, but at 16, girls are very manipulative, and naive, that's why there are laws to protect kids from that confusing/always horny stages of their lives. if your daughter or son are in this situation i would be doing what i could to change it, not allow it to continue...ever heard of teenage pregnancy? not to mention all the diseases, and let alone the age difference. don't you remember what it was like at 16? then how different it was at 20? not to mention, what's going to happen in a year when one's 21, going to the clubs while the other is 17 going to high school, not exactly much in common at that age, 21 and 25- alot better.

I really had to think about this one but while a grown man should defenitly not be having sex with a girl who is underage I dont really think they should be labeled a sex offender and or predator there are girls out here who lie about there age to be with a guy and when found out they lie to there parents thus getting the guy in trouble and put in jail for a long time.

its gross but i don't think a predator i mean if it's consensual then it was agreed both ways. no man who's over 18 should be having sex with a minor anyways even if it is consensual until they change the sex laws people should keep their hands to themselves!!

Not really. Although it is still considered statutory rape because a 16 year old cannot legally consent to having sex.
If someone presses the issue, the 20 year old could get in a lot of trouble.

No I don't think he is a predator as long as he treats the young lady with the care and repect she deserves. As long as the young lady is mature. After all when he is 30 she will be 26, or when he is 40 she will be 36, that isn't considered a predetor then.

I have a 12 yr old daughter, if at 16 a 20 yr old man wants to have sex with her , I would consider it him being a child preditor. A 20nyear old male has enough sence and enough 20 nyr old girls out there willing he shouldn't be looking for 16 yr olds. I am 100% against it.

And no at 16 I wasn't having sex with 20 yr olds.
