Tomorrow is Wednesday I believe because your question says 47 min ago, right? Where are you running this car anyway, down a back road/gravel road? What engine do you have and how many mi. are on it?A 3 cyl. Geo has a better e.t. than what you got. Are you not running it on a dragstrip? Is it an automatic or stick? I know the El's are lite in the rear end but how do you strive to run it better? Are you not taking it to the red line when shifting either manually or just letting it do it's own thing? Cause it will shift on its own automatically fairly close to the red line..How about some more info n this "El Camino" and what are ya doing to strive for more ?

A stock El Camino with a 350 should run high 14s - low 15s. What kind of car ran a 20? That is the worst I've ever heard of. I could probably run faster than that. Actually it would be close lol.

you should strive to go faster than the person you are racing. If you ar bracket racing then it doesnt matter how fast you run. But to kinda answer your question my vette could do 20.25 in reverse, and low 12's going forward. If you are driving a street legal car and you are running in the 10's you are going real fast. As for your el camino I will bet it will run a 14

13 is a decent one for a small V8 with little or no modifications, 12 and lower is good if you run a middle 10 you have a very fast el camino if you can drive it on the street but if it isn't streetable and heavily modified anything less than 10 is good some of the fastest dragsters in the world run 4 second quarter miles at 350ish mph and funny cars run 7's and lower if you can meet those numbers you have a very fast car.

My Ford's alway's ran in the 9's & 10 sec bracket, and well all I can say FORD's Hold the Record For the 1/4 mile Pro Stocks, if you put 5 grand into your motor and trans you might be abale to do high 13's low 14's it takes a lot of cash to go 10 seconds if you drive it there your not going to ever do any good, fast cars are towed to the track, good luck in a GM

a Low 13 is OK??? "slap"

dont listen to him...he lives somewhere we do not...since most corvettes before 2000 ran low thirteens I would consider that better than ok. Most "stock" cars you buy now days will not touch real low 13's unless they are vettes, vipers, ferrari's (which the zo6's and such are in the low 12's). 14's is very respectable...13's is very good...12's is fast...and 11's is real fast...10's is pretty crazy for a street car.

Good luck in a gm???? The only car that mustang has ever produced that is a good drag car is the Foxbody...ya dirty ford owner...You can have an everyday driver camaro in the 10's for less than 10 grand all day long...don't know what that guy is rambling about.

practice driving. Keep it up if you enjoy doing it. If you can get a 17 out of a stock el camino you are doing ok. Just race yourself. Dont worry about the numbers if you enjoy the sport!

Did you remember to take the cinder blocks out of the bed? Just kidding... really though, that is not a very good time. If it is standard trans, maybe some practice on your launch could help you.

A low 14 sec. or a high 13 second run is pretty respectable.
