Yes, when we stop thinking long enough to let ourselves. You see something coming at your face, you flinch or put your hands up, right? I also have the private theory that the shaking of the head to indicate a negative response is also instinctive. At least, every culture I've ever seen or heard about uses it.

Have your ever heard of the "fight or flight" instinct? It is what causes adrenaline to flow in threatening situations to elevate our heart rate. It gives us the strength to fight off the threat or run away. This instinct has been with us since our ancestors were encountering dinosours. Have you ever had the sh#t scared out of you and your heart raced like crazy? This is the the "fight or flight" instinct.

How about fear of spiders/snakes?
Human babies have tons of instinctive behaviours. For example, if you rub a babies cheek, it will turn it's head that way and start making a sucking motion with it's mouth.
Another example is when you see something coming towards you. You automatically put up your hands to protect yourself.

sure we do...have you ever fallen down? Tripped over something and fell? What did your hands do? They went out in front of you to try to block your fall. You didn't have to think about it, your brain just took over. That's instinct.
