yes, I used JK Harris...and..
DONT use them
JK Harris used massive case loads, I ended up twisting in the wind, ended up doing a direct agreement with IRS and have paid them off, I suggest seeing why you were rejected from the OIC unit.
usally it's becuase you had to much assests / income and offered too little for the OIC.
go to ripoffreports.com and type in JKHarris and you'll see a slew of bad rip off reports from them, stay FAR away from them, they make far too many promises they can't keep.
If you know about Roni Deuth that tells me you live in CA, where I used a JK Harris affiliate out of San Deigo. I cannot say anything about Roni, but I doubt she can settle for as low as she claims, JK Harris makes the very same claims.
keep in mind the IRS has 10 year statue of limitations and they will pursue you hard in the 10th year as the debt approaches write off for them, but if you talk or reply with correspondance you in effect acknoledge the debt and can further extend the time limit.
filling out the OIC packet is no fun, but once you do and send it off you buy time, any leins or levy are temporaily suspended until the OIC is accepted or rejected. The same is true if you go on payment installment plan, though a lien will remain in place and then release once the back taxes / penalties are satisfied, at least they ( IRS ) will stick to their end of the bargain and not do anything so as long as you do not miss a payment and keep in communication with them if you think you will. I found them to be very easy to work with and was totally comfortable as I was dealing with straight facts, in fact at one point because of JK Harris's screw ups, I had my wages garnished, but 1 phone call and a simple check to act as good faith and I got that released, JK Harris wanted 750.00 to do the very same thing.
Also the State of Ca is known to be more aggressive in collecting than the IRS, so keep that also in mind, yes they also do payment installents as well.
Keep in mind the OIC unit is in Memphis, the accounts payable is in Texas and I dealt with Sacramento a lot. I keep a my paper trial straight as I dealt will all 3 divisions, that is a must to make it through all the paperwork for setting up any sort of angreement. It sucks I lost 2k on JK Harris as it was better applied to my past taxes / penalties with the IRS.
good luck on getting out of your situation
