Can anyone give me a reason (other than wanting to cheat) that someone should not have to have an I.D. when they vote?
Democrats were against them even after saying they would not charge for them, and they would go to the homes of people who could not get out, and supply them with a card.

ausi... the answer to that was that anyone who wanted or needed one could get one without leaving their home, or paying for it. They were going to drive to their home to give them one.

Actually, the main objection is the 24th Amendment.
Poll taxes are illegal. And a poll tax is defined as anything that a voter must pay for before then can register or vote. So, given that most picture IDs are not free, it's a constitutional violation to make voting dependent on something which costs money to obtain.
As far as the proposals to make the IDs free, it would be helpful if you cited the actual laws so people can tell who actually voted for or against the proposed plans. You might be right that most Democrats opposed such programs, but I'm sure people would feel better if they didn't have to take your word for that assumption.

there is not one single reason that a person voting should not have id to prove that they are not only registered, but that they are who they they are. i live in Arkansas and i have to show my dl or other id to be able to vote.
this just makes as there are only three basic requirements for voting: u.s. citizen, 18 y/o, and registered according to your state's requirements. there are a number of disqualifications like being a convicted felon also.
the dems want no id so unregistered and/or illegals can vote because they would most likely vote democratic.

I have voted in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee and Oklahoma and had to present ID each time.
I would agree with you that we should all to present ID's when voting.
This Democrat is not against them. And it would disappoint me to find my party playing Tammany Hall style games with the voter rolls.

Democrats would lose. They cant fix the polls, Bribe, And appoint election review boards. Example of this is WI Gov. Jim Doyal. Our state prides itself on political fraud. Personally the Military should declare them terorrist and eradicate them.

how can you mandate a NATIONWIDE program to give everyone an ID card for FREE... who's paying for this multimillion dollar plan (that doesn't seem to even exist), because it would cost a pretty penny?
is it worth the cost?
DO YOU WANT YOUR TAXES TO GO UP TO PAY FOR IT? I don't... it's just that simple...
but hey... who votes more conservative than anyone? the elderly... who doesn't have a license or any other ID because they can't drive anymore... the elderly... go ahead, make it a law, we will see who it hurts more...

It is indeed funny that you have to have an ID to check out a library book but not to vote because DemoRATS believe it to disenfranchise poor voters. Will they say the same thing about libraries? Another public work that is only geared to the wealthy?
