I get flack for answering these questions since I am a nurse and therefore part of the great healthcare establishment who of course is not to be trusted. I vaxed all my kids and I've never known anyone who didn't, nor have I known anyone to have any trouble other than a mild fever. I give kids their first Hep B shot at birth all the time at work, some peds are ordering them given to newborns now.
It is your decision of course - you are responsible for the welfare of your kids. Someone will come along and give you a link to the anti-vax websites and the websites showing deaths and reactions to vaccines so you can make your decisions.
However, I do agree that you are wise to consider waiting or separating the shots out more. I do think babies get way too many shots, way too soon.

Babies need their vaccines to prevent all type of diseases . As a mom of 2 , I say you need to get him vaccinated quick before he dies of something that could have been prevented . The only thing that they can develop is a fever which is normal. Giving him fever meds before he gets his shots , during the visit , or even after will help with that

To vaccinate or not is a very complicated and personal decision that only you can make for your child. You must research the issue yourself and realize that there are consequences either way. I have not vaccinated my 9 month old yet, and I'm not sure if I ever will. Some things to consider:
-Will your baby be put in daycare or be exposed to many other small children?
-Are you going to travel outside of the US?
-Some of the vaccinations given these days are for diseases that are very rarely fatal in healthy babies.
-When you vaccinate, you are required to sign away all of your rights to sue the vaccine-makers in the event of damage to your child.
-In Japan and many other industrialized countries children start receiveing vaccines at a much later age (2 years old in Japan) to give their immune systems time to mature.
-Nobody can force you to vaccinate your child.
-Depending on where you live, you may be able to write a simple letter stating your objections to vaccines and still enroll your child in school.
Be informed and trust your instincts!

you're going to get a huge debate on this one but seriously, if you're researching the percent of kids that get sick from vaccines, at the same time go read some stories on the internet from moms whose babies have died of whooping cough or diptheria. at least get your full dose of scare tactics from both sides. I'm pro-vaccine, have you any concept what the world would be like if NO ONE got vaccines??? they dont use mercury in them anymore either, dont beleive everthing you read. autism has no proven link to vaccines either. I sure hope you're breastfeeding if you expect him to develop his own immunity that quickly. ...

Many more children die from the illness the vaccines prevent then die from the vaccine. Ask your peds doc for the stats. I hate that they have to have so many shots, but I would rather her get them then die.

I was immunized. That's why I am dead now. I am a ghost sent back to earth just to harrass breastfeeders on Y!A. I think it was the hepatitis B shot that finished me off.
