Shelters/homes for pregnant women?

Question

I am 20 years old, 13 weeks pregnant, and homeless. In the one time in life a girl really needs her family, I have no one to turn to. I was once a student at USF but I got screwed over by an ex-roommate and got evicted and ended up having to stay with a new boyfriend, which turned into a horrible situation, but not before getting pregnant. I have been couch surfing with various friends for a month now and I just need some stability so I can get a job, but I can't do that right now since I do not know what city I will be in from day to day. If anyone knows of any places that offer help in the Tampa Bay area, please let me know. Thanks.

I don't know if there is a Salvation Army near you, but they help women like us. When I say that it is because I have been there. They will help you get up on your feet. Most of them shelter you for about 30 days. They give you time to get assistance that you need for the government. If you need it. They help you find a job and a home. They will help you with cloths if you need them. It makes you feel like you are in jail, because of the rules. Just remember they are there 2 help you. Keep your head and tell yourself that your not alone. Other are going throught the same thing. You may even look into churchs. There are some that will help you until the baby is born. Call the national 24/7 united ways 211 number. Dont dial 911, just 211. Ask for a battered shelter in your neighborhood. Those are usually the cleanest and they have everything for a baby. You would qualify if anyone ever verbally, sexually or physcially battered you. It could have been the last guy so long as it was within 2 years. Also they will give you the number for WIC to get some good food for your baby and the number for Medicaid. Please attend a prenatal class asap, you can usually get them free at any major county owned hospital. Best place for you is fortworth texas. County hospital is www.jpshealthnet.org and battered womens shelter is Womens Haven in fort worth. They can help you get on your feet.

how about calling the salvation army? they can probably direct you. also the american red cross, could probably direct you. look in the phone book, in the yellow pages under "county" or government. i'm not from there., but theres gotta be someone who can direct you. goodluck sweetie.
